  • I wanted to install a high flow cat but was told the one I had was good enough and that it wouldn't make much of a difference. Better to upgrade cats on older models. I have a 99. This was info from the muffler shop.

  • @rbnsandoval well it did make a difference in sound and some performance, lossed bottom end actually, anyway i did go back to stock eventually cause it kept trigering the light...i sold the vehicle now and have an 08 ram with a hemi, just put duals on that:), will make a vid one of these days...

  • are the super 44's deeper louder and more agressive than the original 40 series?

  • i wouldnt say they are more aggresive, but yes it sounds deaperand less "tinty" with the 44s, with my high flow cat i liked the original 40's, with my stock cat i like the 44's, i never got to try the 44's with the high flow cat, so for me, in general, i like the 44's better and would put those on another vehicle before using oringal 40's

  • @diamondave5 good to hear that from another durango owner, i got a 2002 4.7 slt+ and just got the super 44 on it, i hear chrysler makes a really good cat already so i high flow cat might not do much, what brand is your cat and did it change much for you as far as sound and loudness goes? also i got some vids up of my exhaust and what i've tried if you wanna check em out

  • you can check out my other vid shows this same muffler with a high flow cat, it ended up triggering a engine light several times, i reset it and it would come back 2-3 weeks later, the high cat did make it sound better, gave it more bark, i really enjoyed it but not going to deal with the engine light thing, it also made the truck coast more, like less back pressure, the engine didnt slow me down as much when off throttle, i like the 44 better than the 40 now that i tried one
