Keokuk vs Carlisle 2009 State Softball

July 23, 2009. Keokuk Chiefs (27-14) vs. Carlisle Wildcats (37-1). Harlan Rogers Sports Complex, Fort Dodge, IA. Carlisle was ranked No. 3 in state.

Keokuk made its first state tournament appearance. The Chiefs made their debut Tuesday night, knocking off No. 2 Sioux City Heelan. Carlisle is making its fourth state tournament appearance, its first since 2002. The Wildcats are making their second straight appearance, the ninth in school history.The Wildcats previously qualified in 1993, 1994, 1996, 1997, 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2008. The Wildcats won Class 2A state championships in 1994, 1996 and 1997.
