You prolly hear me call the hip drop, back, they are both the same thing.
the major difference between the two is where you are hitting the drum beats. Hip lifts - one leg slightly infront of the other that knee is very bent, weight on the back leg which is slightly bent. straighten the front leg, tighten that glut. lift, lift lift hip to beat of music.
back or down hips. same pose, but this time, you drop that hip to back, like there is a drum behind your butt and you are going to smack it. drop drop drop to the beat.

  • to all that are having a hard time with the hip Drop. try standing with your weight mostly on teh left foot, right demi point, both knees softly bent. contracting the left glut notice the right hip will drop. do this slowly, pay attention to your posture, practice each side

    whenever i do it, the drop/lifts seem so blunt.

    try contracting the opposite glut for a downsnap.

    So contract Left glut (buttock) for a right hip drop.

    maintain control try not to lock anything
