I went to this spot and cought nothing using live mullet, the water was way to ruff and people were everywhere, and the wind was blowing so hard it would sand blast every piece of exposed skin. I do not recomment it.

edmboarder - Sorry, but I am from Italy and I do not know where "NC" is: is it North Carolina? or New Caledonia? If you say red drum I then I suspect it is south of teh USA, but I have never seen them caught this way! normally I have seen them caught in mangroves or shallow calm waters. This is brutal - but boy I would love to be in the middle of that! how big are teh drum you catch in this mess?

It is in North Carolina. In most casses people do fish for reds in the backwaters, but this is durring the srping run.
The reds that we catch there run from anywhere from 10" to 58" long. Average is around 35" long. My biggest so far was a 40" but i have seen some up to 54".

That is cape hatteras, NC.
Were all fishing for red drum.
And its the best fishing spot on the east coast, and fighting that crowd is worth the prize.
