Michael Fairchild & The Hendrix Rockprophecy Band play "1983 (a merman I should turn to be)" - live, one take, no overdubs. The music is a live soundtrack to various concert and lecture movie scenes.

In the recording studio Jimi added many layers of guitar overdubs for "1983" and there are no recordings of him performing this song in concert. The Rockprophecy Band theorizes how Hendrix might have interpreted the complex movements and overdubs on "1983" if he had arranged the song for live concert performances.

The total time for this video exceeds 10 minutes (youtube limit), but the song contains a natural partition, where we split our video to continue on Part 2 with the section Jimi called "Moon Turn the Tides...gently, gently away"
