The gold standard eh? Sounds like Ron Paul wasn't as crazy as he was portrayed to be. This crisis is the result of TOO MUCH MANIPULATION OF THE SYSTEM for too long. Find out about AUATRIAN ECONOMICS. I like watching THE REAL NEWS, but given its position ON THE LEFT I am surprised it would have Engdahl on. His ideas imply a response to this crisis that Libertarians have called for since 1971; a response, I doubt THE REAL NEWS would advocate. Well, thanks for being there TRN.

That's not the only aspect though. The Russian government has the same enemies in Afghanistan as the US does. The Russian government wants both enemies to weaken each other, and it wouldn't want one of them to succeed ever.

True, people deserve what they get. In Middle East states, the people never rise up against their dictators. If people accept tyranny then people deserve tyranny.

The Russians want the Afghan War and Iraq War to continue indefinitely, the more money and time the US spends on those wars the more time Russia has to re-organize. China and Russia have used this time to arm themselves.
