I've got 3 electric basses from warwick. they are all active, they all use a 9volt battery to power the electronic. trust me it isn't that bad. you have to change them sometimes, but it really helps to get a good sound

My VG Strat goes for about 8-10 hours using rechargeable batteries so it's not as battery hungry as some might think.

I own this guitar in a 3 color sunburst like the one in the video not being played and it plays beautifully. Too bad they discontinued this guitar but that makes it worth more after 30 years or so. It was only in production starting about 2006 r 2007 and they discontinued it in may of 2009. The only way to buy one is used but there might be some new ones at some local music store but I love mine and am so proud to be an owner of one of these beauties.
