Anti-Bullying Gun, Knife and Gang Crime!

Not directly linked to Bullying. But the message is the same- it's not just about Bullying anymore; it's about looking out for each other!

A one-off look at British gun and gang crime.

So far 23+ teenagers have been shot or stabbed to death this year!

As students came in I played the music video for Eminem's Toy Soldier, which looks at the feuds in the world of rap music, which resulted in the deaths of Tupac, B.I.G. etc. (You can find it it in my YouTube Channel PLAY LIST).

To start the assembly I played Roll Deep's Badman Music Video, part of 'Trident' http://www.stoptheguns.org campaign (Find it on my YouTube Channel). I then asked the students what it was about.

Then played THIS assembly piece.

Ended the assembly with the trailer for 'Freedom Writers', a blockbuster film that explores the gang warfare etc of America. (Also found in my YouTube PLAY LIST. Good film- Out on DVD now!)

An assembly all about thinking about the decisions you make in undesirable situations and the unforeseen consequences that may occur as a result!

And I suppose Ultimately how your behaviour and attitude affects everyone!

It hits home doesn't it? Horrific consequences and my sentiments go out to the families and friends of those lost.

I'm actually using this within a lesson on bullying and gang culture with my Year 8 pupils. It's a fantastic resource and can hopefully save lives. Regards. x

Can some one tell why your law is not working. I believe criminals don’t follow and obey the law.

How are you going to make sure some one does not have a concealed weapon on them. Search every one on the street ervery ten Minutes. I know of one way make sure every one is unarmed make them go naked, strip them to birthday suit.

If someone is planning to MURDER I'm sure they will be completely deterred with that 5-year punishment for having a gun.

Actually, I wanna know why nearly every house is full of guns and almost half the people carry weapons where I live and there hasn't been a murder in years? And I'm not confining the statistic to "gun-related" murders.

If someone went on a shooting rampage here, they would be met with SO much civilian force that the rampage would turn into a short squeaky fart.
