"INTJ" is a personality type based on Myers-Briggs: it stands for

• I -- Introversion preferred to extraversion: INTJs tend to be quiet and reserved. They generally prefer interacting with a few close friends rather than a wide circle of acquaintances, and they expend energy in social situations (whereas extraverts gain energy).

• N -- Intuition preferred to sensing: INTJs tend to be more abstract than concrete. They focus their attention on the big picture rather than the details and on future possibilities rather than immediate realities.

• T -- Thinking preferred to feeling: INTJs tend to value objective criteria above personal preference. When making decisions they generally give more weight to logic than to social considerations.

• J -- Judgment preferred to perception: INTJs tend to plan their activities and make decisions early. They derive a sense of control through predictability, which to perceptive types may seem limiting.

Also known as the "mastermind" personality, this type makes up less than 6% of the population; female INTJ's are even more rare but do exist. INTJ's are known for their logic, brutal honesty, reliability, self-confidence, and awkward social skills. They also make the best villains. ;)

Included in this video are some of my favorite INTJ male personalities in film and on television-- those not included but that are also famous fictional INTJ's are Dr. House, "Bones," Clarice Starling, and Michael Corleone. It is claimed that Jane Austen was an INTJ.

Characters (in order of first appearance): Lex Luthor (Smallville), Mr. Thornton (North and South), Sylar (Heroes), Spock (Star Trek), Nikola Tesla (Sanctuary), Magneto (X-Men), Sherlock Holmes (Sherlock), Thomas Jefferson (John Adams miniseries -- also a historical INTJ), Hannibal Lecter, Mr. Darcy (Pride & Prejudice).

  • "Sherlock Holmes (Sherlock)"

Disagree. He's too skilled in noticing exterior details. Until they turned him into a little snivelling coward, I would have said Moriarty was an INTJ.

  • @recalibration: Moriarty IS an INTJ. Particularly when it comes to his boredom with life in general.

  • Just noticed the music; do INTJs like epic music like me?

  • @inrrivas: ... well, I know that I do. The more epic it is, the better I like it. =D

  • Y so dramatic, dude? Also, mistypes: Bones and Spock are ISTJ, House is INTP, Tesla was most likely an INxP and so on. You're right about Sherlock and Mr. Darcy, at least.

  • @anardev: ISTJs never break rules and are extremely traditional -- that rules out Bones and her view of premarital sex, and Spock as a habitual rule breaker when it suits him. Tesla on "Sanctuary" is a COMPLETE INTJ.

  • @anardev House the character is an INTJ. The best evidence is in one of the newest episode as evidence. The actor for House is an INTP.

  • I am a melancholy/choleric which is an ISTJ

  • Let me further explain: the choleric traits dry up the emotional qualities of the melancholy. The phlegmatic and choleric traits bring cool logic to the table. Both the melancholy and phlegmatic traits contribute to the introversion, which offsets the normally hot-headed and extroverted choleric. Combine these three temperaments, in pretty even percentages, and you get an INTJ........tada!!

  • INTJ's are a rare blend of melancholic, phlegmatic and choleric temperaments( not always in that order). If one is an INTJ, that person has qualities of these temperaments

  • That was hot.

  • I feel happy to watch that video.
