This "event short" (less than 60 seconds) extracts a solemn part of an emotional Memorial Day service held in the mountain community of Grand Lake, Colorado. Stillwater Community Chapel pastor Jim Weber recites the "three word groupings" of taps lyrics shortly after explaining the legend of how the bugling of "Taps" by a single instrument evolved during the civil war. Following Weber's presentation, a prayer was offered followed by a 3 round gun salute. This video compresses the bugling of taps into fairly rapid cuts of the audience as they silently listens to Jim's words, then a short cut from the gun salute along with cuts of local veterans as they marched earlier in the Memorial Day parade. Music clips of the school band performing at the ceremony.
