@EastCoastOp only 2.8% of it is drinkable. the rest is salt water which can kill people if drunk, and we do not have the current technology to filter out the salt efficiently.

Save the water! because all the water you're wasting when you flush your toilets is all the water people living in africa won't be able to drink...especially if you're living in the US...

yes. every flush is from 2-5 gallons, depending on the age of the toilet.
