How to erase and blend objects. For Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, or similar photo editing programs. Erasing is the most basic, and possibly the most critical skill of digital artists working with photo-manipulation. Peek into the process of the digital artist, F.A. Moore, as she creates a new, as yet untitled, digital art work.

Many thanks to friend and musician, David Newby, for his score, "Samurai Dream", used by permission. (David is "martouk" on musicforte.)

  • great video Fran! I don't PS but have elements 6 and use Gimp ... learned a little about blending ... but have used the erase tool to remove extraneous pixels for quite some time now ... will be checking out all you helpful tutorials! I'm sure I'll be learning a lot of helpful stuff (big smile) .. thank you for sharing! (big smile)

  • Thanks owlspook. I don't know any other way to remove pixels other than the eraser tool. :)) Because I have a lot of detail in my artwork, I'm often asked how it all looks so seamless. The art is in finessing the eraser tool, which is what I'm attempting to show here. Glad you picked up some blending tips. Thank you!

  • Beautiful techniques! I've been struggling to effectively blend images in my art and photo editing and these tips will be an enormous help. Also--I could listen to your beautiful voice all day. Between your voice and your friend's ethereal music, this piece was not only informative, but hypnotic! Thanks! Will look for more of your videos.

  • Wonderful, Fran. I like that you are doing these tutoring videos. Very helpful! Thank you! Jill
