Word on Fire introduces a new video series featuring Father Robert Barron entitled "Faith Seeks Understanding." This series explores questions frequently posed to Father Barron by believers and skeptics alike. Word on Fire has taken a different approach for these videos, employing more of a discussion format. We hope that Fathers lively responses to these questions will be both clarifying and edifying and serve as yet another helpful resource in the dialogue of the Faith and culture.

Man I love God. He is awesomeness.

  • @shotgunmessenger96 And yet, the Son is called Jesus and the Spirit is never refered to as Michael. In fact, neither are associated by the people the same way the angels were treated. Gabriel announced that Mary would concieve. He never said that she would concieve "him". You should read the Bible plainly without taking into account what your pastor has told you. Not a verse here or there, but Genesis through to Revelation.

  • Yes God is Love :)

  • @TheRekcabOfTheD if John wanted to write "Son" instead of "word" he would have. And why are you adding the Spirit and its nowhere to be found?

  • @kyzersoze74 In the very beginning of the Book of John, John says that the Word (Jesus) was with God and was God and that everything came through him. The Word (Jesus) and the Father all existed together and the Holy Spirit exists because the Father and Word exist. there is no compromise, but it is difficult to think about.

  • the best view on the trinity i in fact got from the catholics: it is a divine mystery, to be believed and not understood.

many questions are in fact futile and are not so much answered as silenced by encountering the Almighty, as in Job 38.

How is the ONE also THREE? given that I am not entirely sure that God is love explains it, I have no idea; and will not go into heresy by trying to figure it out.

we are not to answer their questions we are to show them God

  • sounds like God's immutability was compromised. In other words, did the triune God change in anyway after the Incarnation? When the Godhead "took upon Himself" a human nature? So that now you have "Father, Son, HS & a human nature". HEADACHE!!

  • God is One,He is The Father. The Son was Gabriel The Arch Angel. The Holy Spirit was Michael The Arch Angel.

  • where's your bible???

everything you said came from your own ideas!
