Australian lifeguard control and authorities have been notified of a massive school of sharks feeding off the southern Queensland coast.
The sharks were spotted by a Sunshine Coast rescue helicopter just metres off the beach at Teewah, about 10km north of the tourist town Noosa.
The sharks, some up to 4.5 metres long, were in a massive feeding frenzy.
Aircrew officer Rick Harvey said hundreds of sharks were feeding on several large schools of baitfish and tuna.
Harvey said that most of them were smaller sharks, but three or four very large sharks were spotted, around 4.6 metres long, and believed to be tiger sharks.
Although the sharks were feeding at a secluded stretch of beach, the few fishermen in the area were keeping out of the water.
Harvey said that, as a precaution, the lifeguard and local authorities had been notified.

apparently a school of sharks only needs two sharks not even next to each other...

This happens EVERY YEAR when the baitfish schools move in to coastal waters. But don't let that stop you or anyone else from engaging in pointless alarmist idiocy. Sharks eat fish, stop the press!
