  • Am i right in saying that when filtering its the person filtering whos at fault. That is in terms of insurence. Which sucks because i've had people delibrately do that on me when filtering.

  • @cooperm123 Nope, it's perfectly legal, as long as the cars are either stopped or moving at no more than a crawl (as in the video). A precedence has been set recently in the Davis V Shrogin case whereby "a filtering motorist passing stationary or very slow moving traffic could not be to blame if a collision occured if the rider had no chance to take avoiding action", this has now become case law. see motorbikestoday com/news/Articles/filtering_law.htm (just add three 'w's and the missing dots!).

  • They are going to vote in Arizona to split lanes. I grew up riding like that in So cal, but these people out here are something else. on the eastside near scottsdale and such you got the Speed demons that cant find there blinker switch and on the westside sun city you have the old drivers that cant turn them off!

  • @phxxr650r Yeh, I just spent the last ten days driving from San Francisco to San Diego in a hire car and it was an education to say the least (especially once you hit LA!). Having said that, at least you've got five or six lanes out there to choose from if someone cuts you up. Here we're all crammed into two.

  • @banfordg - Touché. Hang on! - didn't you used to have a Beemer? ;o)

  • Yeh, yeh, yeh... hey, how'r those stoppies coming along? ;o)

  • if you see a gap asume a car will want to fill it that works for me

  • @banfordg interesting to know. Easy to prove if you hit the front of the car if the car turns into you. but if a mirror is damaged how are you able to prove that you the rider didn't clip the cars mirror. Even with photos this could be a difficult one.

Tip for everyone: CARRY A CAMERA WITH YOU people will try anything to get out of claim. My mate learned that the hard way.

  • Yes plus your aware your going to crash so you can sort of prepare yourself and abandon the bike lol, not the case if a car slams int othe front end of your bike tho, stay safe man.

  • @robertgisthebest You're right, at least if you come off on the dirt it's generally your own fault..!
