@XXthewaveXX You are right about the fact that being rich dosen't nessacarily make a person happy. An old rich man may spend his money on fancy cars or mansions so that he can maintain interest in life. However in the context of the Pursuit of Happyness, attaining a high job position directly contributes to the main character's happiness. This is because he knows his and his son's future is secure. The banker position isn't about promotion of the rich; it's about fulfillment of long-term goals.
