  • @sgpnc : when I first heard this, I thought Sandy Bull meets Peter Sellers( at the start of The Party...) with a sprinkle of the Chieftains and Ravi Shankar....all kidding aside, I agree about the prodigy part!

  • i could sit and listen to mr dave play music all day long

  • "The Boy Who Wouldn't Hoe Corn"

  • Mr Dave! that was great thanks

  • awesome!!!! - love Mr. Dave!

  • Mr. Dave is a prodigy. His stuff is hard to categorize. Think Doc Watson goes to Ankara. Please go out to his website and buy his self-published music. I promise you will not be disappointed.

  • "Lazy Man Who Wouldn't Hoe Corn"

  • This instrument is very special: An irish bouzouki with frets like the turkish saz. So its possible to play quartertones.

  • Very nice performance--quite a potpourri of styles. I hear a lot of Turkish influence and I like when he switches tonalities (just a few times in this performance). He seems very "at home" with this instrument--I wonder what its provenance is. There's a lot of confusion regarding bouzouki-type instruments like this, with probably up to 10 names for the same type of instrument, depending on the culture, number of strings, etc.
