check your facts... that "title" was awarded to them by historians years after that season. They didn't even win a playoff to be named champions that year. So really, you can only say that a small group of old dudes thought they were the best team that year. Good try, though.

@DJCamYank Well, the NCAA doesn't recognize it. They recognize the pre-BCS football championships. And you're right, we're not close to Purdue- we have more championships and Final Fours.

@CaseyP543 Purdue does have one National Championship (1932)--don't casually write it off, it matters, just like pre-BCS football championships.
Purdue leads the Big Ten in total conference championships.
Purdue leads its all-time series with all Big Ten teams.
IU isn't even close to Purdue, unlike Ohio State, Iowa, and Illinois.
