This is the fifth in a series of videos which will follow the progress of the conversion of a Holden Barina (Suzuki Swift) to electric drive. In this video we see the engine running. This engine is for sale after being removed to make room for the electric motor. Where? Adelaide, South Australia. All enquiries: see www.evric.kestar.com.au

  • I don't think a 1.0L Metro engine makes that much noise - bet you're glad to get rid of that!!

  • This is a standard 1.3L Suzuki Swift engine in very good condition. The noise you are speaking about is the standard tappit sound. The camera has very sensitive sound recording.

  • I didn't mean it wasn't in good condition, I just didn't realize it made so much noise - I've done a lot of work on my son's 1.0L version of this engine, and even the odd 3-cylinder pattern isn't this noticeable. Maybe I should record it running and see how it compares.
