This non-motorized tabletop kinetic art rolling ball sculpture is approx. 25" tall and about 19" wide. 1 3/8" glass marbles. 2 separate tracks. Marbles are released by pushing on the T-handle. They roll directly into a track switch which sends the marbles, alternately, left or right. All stainless steel, TIG welded. A graduation gift. Order one for someone special, $1050.

  • Cool, what materials do you use for building these things? I really wanna make one.

Why don't you make a mechanism that brings the balls back up to the top? The coolest thing ever would be if you bought a low temp stirling engine and made it run off the heat of your television and let it bring them back up

  • I use stainless steel that is TIG welded. I do make motorized sculptures, just none this small.

  • verry good

  • Thank you!

  • Those are so cool! How long do all these take to make they look so complex

  • I built this sculpture in about 3 days.

  • a very simple contraption turns this into a fully automated machine

  • It would be cool if there was a rolercooster like that

  • Dude Ur a role model I wanna be like u someday :3

  • quick, and i can't really see what's happening...

  • @motleymdg

i'm looking to start trying make these, but i don't know how to weld, nor could afford the equipment for tig welding. Do you think it would be possible to solder one of these sculptures together?

  • i never would have the patience to make one of these. do you ever feel like leaving them halfway through building them?

  • That is truly an amazing profession you've got, it's so inspiring to see that people can create such complex and visually attractive things simply by manipulating metal and marbles.

    5/5

  • what is it for?

    anyway it's really cool ;)
