  • By making sure that the nail is used to strike the first and third note in each group of three eighth notes, even a novice player can start tackling some simple jigs. The cool sounding blues lines will come later...

  • I actually find jigs being easier to play than reels using the clawhammer style these days. Same thing on the tin whistle. Something about the rythm and the speed. When I learned the basics of clahammer I did not even touch the 6/8 or anything like it as you say :) And it was really hard first to get the right hand moving as it should! But after a while it feels really natural. I'm far from your level of banjo skill though! Just comparing my own skill when it comes to reels and jigs etc.

  • NICE... Kind of bouncing between Ol' time and Blues... LOVE IT! way behind my skill lvl... BUT! something to keep in the back of the ol' banjo data bank...

  • Somewhat beyond my skill level, but a great instruction video. Thanks.
