Swami Dayananda Saraswati is a traditional Vedantic Master. In this video recording Swamiji is guiding the listener on an inquiry into the nature of "I". Swami Dayananda offered this talk some years ago during one of his visits to the San Francisco Bay Area. By this traditional and thorough oral unfoldment, Swamiji aims to create a sort of a mirror in the mind of the listener that may allow him/her to recognize the true nature of his/her Self. You may learn more about Vedanta and of Swamiji's work by visiting arshavidya.org.

  • We are parts of the Supreme Whole. We are not the whole.

  • If something is The Whole, where is there room for parts? The Whole, Brahman, is the true nature of the Self (âtmâ), just like water, the whole which is the ultimate reality of the sea, is also the reality of each and every wave. There are not two waters. That whole, you are, even though the mind does not know it. That is what needs to be known if one is to fulfill one's life. Seek to discover That as yourself.

  • Looking at yourself as the personality structure (body/mind/senses), you are correct. Those aspects are all made up of parts and they are part of a large universe, which is made up of parts also. The Whole, Brahman, is that from which everything has manifest, upon which it exists and to what it all goes back to. That you are.

  • I do not understand. He says you are the whole in one video. Then he says that you are not this and that. and calls both knowledge. knowledge must necessarily BE INTEGRATION OF WHAT IS PERCEIVED BY THE SENSE ORGANS.

  • So you SEE two people looking in the direction of where you stand, and HEAR them say 'he is foolish person.' Here there is intergration of what is perceived by the sense organs. Yes, there is knowledge, but is it true they are talking about you? You might conclude they are, but what about if there is someone beyond you that you don't see, and they are referring to that person and not you? Your non-apprehension of what IS, caused your mind to misapprehend the reality causing you to sufffer anger.

  • Wonderful ! What a Revelation. All Doubts & Question answered. Never have seen any kind of this discussion in any other religion.

  • @ServeTruth2u

My friend, you are the whole and complete....

    Each soul is potentially divine

  • @jawsad1 I/you/we - the subject. atoms and space - the object (your body my body our bodies collapse down to atoms and space hence objects).

    This much scientific?

The I/you/we is unknown to science yet. So wait till science gets there. No choice for you.

  • I do understand nothing from his speech . Please ask him to speak scientifically . And truly

  • astounding!

  • I sometimes feel there is no 'I', like deciding to write a reply to what you posted. It happened without an I. BUt if there is 1 whole, how can that I(as the whole) can only activate my body nad not yours at he same time? Still seperation going on.

  • Very well said, my pranAm to you Sir, for uploading these videos.
