Judging by the reaction of illegal immigrants, they can't use "refugee" as a condition of their entry. Refugees are fleeing persecution (or even environmental catastrophe), and aren't picking and choosing their country to flee. Travelling through several countries of safe haven means that you lose your right to claim refugee status. Stay in Indonesia. They like violent people.

This ship left an Indonesian port, it sank 50 miles from the Indonesian coast, yet WE are supposed to have raced across the ocean to save them.

Shouldn’t Indonesia be having the inquiry? Maybe they could investigate all the Indonesian politicians and military officers who take bribes from people smugglers.

Singapore and Japan immediately deport illegal immigrants, Malaysia flogs them before deporting them, as a punishment. Do you hear any of our “do-gooders” condemning those countries?

It is amazing that Muslims are so critical of western society yet they risk their lives to get there. Then they try to hang on to traditions that messed up the countries they fled.
