I have made this loving slideshow in tribute to The Animals, one of the greatest and cutting edge bands of the sixties.

Eric Burdon (vocals)
Hilton Valentine (guitar)
Chas Chandler (bass)
John Steel (drums)
Alan Price (keyboards)

Dave Rowberry (keyboards)
Barry Jenkins (drums)

In memory of Chas Chandler and Dave Rowberry ✿ܓ

On December 7, 2010, the Recording Academy announced that The Animals 1965 song "We Gotta Get Out Of This Place" is going to be inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2011. Heartfelt congrats to The Animals! ♥ ☺

This song is timeless. It is about the plight of the working man slaving to the bone for peanuts. Lost opportunities or no opportunities at all. Like all young people at some point they rebel, want something more, something better. We all do.

Well said. This song speaks to all of us who feel no hope, no future, feeling trapped, and not able to realize our full potential also. Like billions of us now.

Back in Nam I remember smoking refer with Danforth, Hastings and the rest of the gang through a . I can't do this, I wasn't in Nam. I've seen like 20 Vietnam War movies with similar scenes, they haunt me man, those movies. Never Forget.

It had a double meaning to us in Vietnam......especially during TET of 68, on this no name hill, the NVA would dump mortars, rockets and everything else they could on us. Of all things, when their incoming started coming in, someone had rigged up the hills PA system with this song, playing a 45 record into the system. Strange times then....that is how I will always remember that music. Other than that....you be so right.
