Nancy Reagan speaks about her beloved husband and American Ronald Reagan. A 40-foot statue of the Gipper was unveiled at 11am, June 3, 2009. It will reside in Statuary Hall with other pairs of bronzed heroes representing each state of the Union.
Reagans statue replaces that of the Rev. Thomas Starr King, a Unitarian Universalist minister who helped persuade the Golden State to stay in the Union during the Civil War. (from New Ledger)

In a democracy, heads of state are always fair game for the satirists and comedy script writers - Ronald and Nancy had more than their fair share of them. But the consequences of loosing Europe to Soviet expansion would have been second only to loosing it to the Nazis 30 years earlier.And why the world still celebrates the those heroic allied heads of state who brought down the Nazis, few even gesture a thought for Ronnie who was at the helm when Russia was brought in from the cold.

@ItsChillyBrrr They're all the same. The dumber the man, the more "folksie the talk, the more they like them. Its something that logic cannot penetrate. They want to believe that Reagan was some great, thoughtful leader and not a dumb, foolish, dangerous and finally senile man. His wife was doubly useless.

War Criminal? Reagan brought down the Soviet Union without firing a shot.He convinced Gorbachev to take down the Berlin wall without the threat of violence. He brought our own Country out of the worst economic downturn it had seen since the depression by giving people more of thier own money,and reducing the size and power of Government.After 16 years of war,scandals and failed policies he was able to bring honor back to the White house in a way the LBJ, Nixon and Carter could have only dreamed
