  • This was not one of Annette's better endeavors, but I loved her.

  • For a 16 y.o. in the 50's, she did what she was told to do. I think she did it rather well. It "was" also hit!

  • Maybe so, but it didn't compare to O Dio Mio, Lonely Guitar, or my favorite First Name Initial.

  • We all have different tastes, let's be glad she sang the variety of songs she did. We all prefer one tune over another but I still want a variety. Maybe it has to grow on you (I've listened to it well over 100 times, I still like it!) enjoy!

  • Love Annette, Hate this song, just one reason they sunk her recording career!

    Rejane

  • This song was not Annette's downfall, this was at the start of her singing career, and a hit (1959), her first release, after "Tall Paul". She went on to sing many more songs and then starred in TV & films before becoming a wife & mother.

Note: Fedor Jeftichew, the real Jo Jo died in 1904 at 36.

  • Nobody seems to like this song, but what a great message for kids this song is! Even the funny looking gloopy kid with bad clothes can be cool! We need more songs like this for kids today!

  • She is by far one of the cutest Italian broads that I have ever seen. Mama Mia! Rrrrrrrrrrrrr!

  • To a young man watching Annette in the late 50's early 60's she was our girl. Ever seen the 45 sleeve for Promise Me Anything? All her songs had a happy sound even the love songs.

  • @ncatt kathy Young had a good but not perfect singing voice too. but she sure got the job done. Lots of folks with awesome vocal chords who can't sing a lick because their hearts are hard

  • annette rules

  • @matthewfordxxx It's too bad you didn't enjoy or appreciate Annette as much as I and many others did. Yes, I listened to Connie but also Doris Day & Lesley Gore, Sinatra & Presley, Pop & Country, Instrumentals, Showtunes, Christmas, Swing & Doo Wop. I enjoy "MUSIC", I wouldn't listen to just one artist or genre.

To say Annette wasn't "up to the task" is completely wrong, Annie didn't have a loud booming voice but there was nothing wrong with it, she carried a tune & the majority of us loved it.

  • yeah ncatt, i was going to say that too, this was her first album i am pretty sure it was, cause i was around 9 or 10 when i was given the album for xmas, i liked the song love me forever on it, but i cant find it, ill keep trying, good to hear these memories again.

  • I loved Jennie Lee, as did alot of record buyers. That's why it became a hit.

  • This did not sink Annette's recording career. She had a recording career until the 1980's. From these early records, she went on to be a star of movie musicals. These early records launched her career. She recorded a Xmas 45 and an album in the 80's.
