Hi..i actually have an ixus 40 too...I was trying to install CHDK But ...When i put my SD Card On the cam CHDK Doesnt Appears .... Can U help ME?....i guess i dont know my camera fimware version....Maybe is this

@Theizaak123channel Hi..you need first to make sure you you have the correct firmware version as I believe there are 3 different one's for the Ixus40. You can do this by downloading and running 'cardtricks' (chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CardTrick­s). The MAIN thing to remember is to lock the SD card as it only works in the lock position. If it's in unlock position your normal camera firmware is loaded.....Hop this helps.

@andyfitzgig Hi, did this by using CHDK (Canon Hack Development Kit) which is loaded onto your SD card and acts as new temporary firmware for the camera but will in no way harm the original firmware. Basically it allows DSLR functions to your point & shoot plus more with different scripts available online like the one I used for time lapse,motion detection etc. Downloads and more info can be found here : chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK
