Thank you for the tips! I wanted to buy an expensive bitless bridle for my 4 yo mare because she was struggling with the bit and she was bad (but now I know it was all my fault). Then I have seen this video and I tried to ride her with a rope halter today and she was super super! So I decided to ride her bitless for a while and then I´ll ride her with a soft bit cause I want her to accept both. Perhaps I will buy that bitless bridle, but later:)
Good luck with your horses and thanks again:))

Personally out of all the bitless bridles this one is the best (type in bitlessbride . come withOUT the spaces) My pony is SO much more relaxed and it's not in danger of breaking his now or anything, it's so AMAZING!

thank you for the help. i ride my buckskin all the time with our hand-me-down rope halter and softy reins. my young filly i've started groundwork and will use it too. she will never know a bit. such a joy to raise this girl. we're both learning as we go.

I really love the idea of using a bitless bridle but I'm also a bit worried about trying it. I ride a friend's horse and he is great but he spooks, bolts and naps in the fields and on the road and I was wondering would a bitless bridle be dangerous to use on a horse like this? I really don't like having to rely on a bit in situations like this but it might be safer...

Hee eva!

Is there another name for the glucksrad? I've been trying to get a ballpark price on ebay, but there are zero results.

In romanian I use too "HO" for stop the horse and kind of "ckck" to go faster. But does really exist a command to rear or for piaffee? Could you tell me in your langue :D . In my langue walk = "pas" , trot = "trap" (kinda funny when you think in english XD ) , canter = "galop" and you use for attention "atentie!".

Bij je foto staat : Bitloos beter dan mét bit? Shilas en ik vinden van niet! Maar bitloos rijden vind ik wel beter rijden, en volgens mij bedoelde jij dat ook, of niet? want zo klopt de zin niet.
How much to the average bitless bridles cost? :)

Around 40 euro's. That's why I tell people to start with a halter, much cheeper and just as good to use! :D

What voice commands do you use? I know something like "whoa" for stopping and "back" for reverse, but do you use others?

I use 'HO' to stop or to reduce speed and I use Dutch commands such as 'Stap' to walk, 'Draf' to trot and I click my tongue to go faster. I use 'LEEET OP' (pay attention) to prepare my horse. For example: 'LEEEET OP!" - command for rearing - rear.

@EvaRoemaat Thanks. I wasn't sure if you also said "left" and "right" for turns. I like the preparation concept.

It works perfect! :) Just try things out and use the method that fits you and your horse best! :D
