I had the opportunity to meet Mr Seals back in the mid-80s. His tour bus came through our small town. He made a stop at our local fishing tackle shop. He talked with all of us for some time. Dan struck me to be a humble and sincere man. Sad his life was cut short. This song hit close for me. I raised my son on my own after his mother left for the party crowds, to her later dismay. Dan made another song, "One Friend". It fits well for the woman who I am blessed to have in my life today.

I remember my dad used to have a bunch of old cassette tapes, including a Dan Seals one with this song on it... when I waslittle I used to play it when I was going to bed, the lyrics are forever burned into my memory. rest in peace Dan, you were a great musician and and your songs were an important part of my childhood.
