When I joined and was recruited in by a couple of Brother's from the 1960's Brand's park Popes ; it was 1971. My nick-name was Lil Mick. I ran and was a good friend of Larkin (R.I.P.). It was Me ; Larry and Outlaw that invented the Insane part of the Almighty Popes! I retired from the gang in 1977. The POPES will ALWAY's be in My Heart! The Almighty Popes would have never made it on 18th st or some where there were cut throats. They banged in the Clear ridge area thats one of the safest parts of Chicago its like a suburb. Half of them their parents worked for the city making good money. Its like sayin your a banger from napperville they were a joke.
