Master carvers in Conakry, Guinea, West Africa put the final touches and intricate carvings on a Djembe. Very nice hand workmanship.

  • awesom do you do whole sale... kodidrumer/facebook , myspace/kodidrummer

  • That shit is sick...damn nice man...and we got power tools to make life easier..Cant wait to take my trip to Afrikka

  • He's not pushing the chisel, just tapping it lightly with the mallet. Likely it's not going to go any further than an inch or so even if it slips. This guy can probably do this with his eyes closed.

To me, I'd rather these guys just be carving shells and putting the drums out for less money. Who cares whats on the outside, and it probably hurts the sound if anything at all.

  • uh....what?

  • dont slip boy, or that thing is going straight into your leg

  • africans are probably the most resourceful people on the face of this planet

  • this goes to show the effort that goes into the djembe, these drums are worth a lot more than just money.they are priceless, these guys are amazing!

  • yes, yes, yes I bought my djembe in The Gambia, made like that, very special, made for heartbeatmusic
