i noticed that too. i'm thinking maybe his parents just combed it that way so he'd look "groomed" for school pictures or something, cause i remember seeing a very curly-haired picture where he must've been in his early teens.

when the vocals kick in at this song i just hit a John trance... amazing stuff. now im a huge Frusciante fan, from the newest empyrean material to his covers at the Paradiso... but there is just something incredible and fricking interesting about Niandra LaDes and Smiles from the streets you hold records... not because hes using heroin or making good songs, but because he is forming complex works of ART. some pretty amazing shit happened when he was couped up in that house...
