an iCloned Video - dashpoet's ripples

Out of the blue, I was sent a video today. A reworking of one of my poems. Above all, it confirmed to me that the true value of YouTube is in the way it brings people together, to exchange, to creatively inspire.

I know Neil through his beautiful videos, charting progress as he explores the techniques and traditions of Chinese art, on his channel 'ChineseCalligraphy'. In contrast to the time-honoured ink-stone and paper, Neil also uses cutting edge software in his work.

For this video, in Neil's words: " iClone version 4 allows to you not just add a voice file to a character, and shape the character however the hell you wish, but also to "steer" the facial expressions in literally thousands of ways. Its really an incredible tool now. Version 4 was released today, so your video with this facial manoeuvring however slight and blinking etc, is a world first in Version 4 iClone releases. Have fun anyway. Heh!"

REFLECTIONS

in the future
we don't know how
but the world will look
very different
why shouldn't it
look back a bit

not many years ago
the moon was cheese
and stars were holes
and that was true

today the world is round
but experts said
the earth was flat
and that was that

perceptions of the world
change with the times
loose ideas
blow like wind

there was life on earth
when the ice age gripped
and turned life blue
that could be our future too

open up your mind
and realise
that we don't know
how it will be

not many miles away
people live now
without a car
and without food

the way we live our lives
is important now
not less but more
than it's ever been

there is good and bad
and we can choose
the way we live
and who will lead

& RIPPLES

life dealt us each one hand
that we must play
the best we can
to win the game

the way we play our hands
is based upon experience
is inherited from our ancestors
is our legacy for daughters and sons

so make the best you can
of what you have
and for their sake
do the right thing

always be aware
that life can change
and that means
everything

we must be prepared
to compromise
but not loose sight
of the central aim

there is a path to find
a way to go
towards harmony
where we win the game

we means us
we means humanity
we is more than you and me
we hold the fate of birds and bees
we hold the future of the seas
we owe it to the forest trees

we means us
we means humanity
we need some humility
we owe it to the forest trees
we hold the future of the seas
the future is our destiny
