Sorry but the camera is aimed at the ground so I only caught a couple of brief glimpses of the UFO. If you want to see it skip to 8:29 and 10:30. The rest of the video is just me flying over my neighborhood.

So I'm flying my electric powered RC glider around in a local park, and I see this black thing flying towards me from the east. At first I thought it was a bird and then I saw that it was a round shape with no wings. I thought it was a small helium balloon but looking at the footage I don't think it's a small balloon, it seems to be larger and up pretty high. I followed it with my plane for a few minutes until it disappeared into the clouds. The bottoms of the clouds were at 3400' this day, much higher than where my plane was.

I still think it's some kind of balloon but it must have been a big one. But feel free to watch the video and draw your own conclusions.

  • I'm thinking about a helium based camera platform that stays up weeks on end- solar powered.

  • @worldcitizenreporter That sounds pretty neat! I'd like to see someone build one of those.

  • What type of airplane and camera are you using. It seem a really nice time to enjoy. Thanks for close ecounter video !!!!!! Martin

  • @SuperHugoHdez It's a Carl Goldberg Electra (upgraded to a brushless motor) with a #11 keychain cam from Hong Kong.

  • I couldn't see anything..

  • @CTmike100 It's only visible for a fraction of a second. I tried to get close to it with my plane but was unable to. It turned out to be higher than I thought it was. I still think it was a balloon but it was fun to "chase" it with the plane.

  • excellent. sharp eye.

    take care

  • @smoothvirus high altitude long endurance craft (HALE) have been used for over a decade. Today's materials steel reinforced Mylar (for helium) and cheap electronics (remote cameras, robotics) make it possible to construct a 'cheap' high tech platform.

We are busy sourcing the materials for an off the shelf solution.

  • that's actually a good idea keep it up. Specially when you see something in the sky

  • Nice cam vid! Oh, ufos you say. I dont think so, you just wanted more viewers. LOL!
