  • There is no 64-bit version of Mandriva One. There are 64 bit versions of Powerpack and Free.

  • Great setup and video!

  • I wouldn't comment without knowing my friend. I've asked because I'm interested in a 64-bit system and I currently own a Powerpack version, which only comes in 32 bits. The only 64-bit Mandriva version is Mandriva Free...

  • Totally fake?

    Ask people at Mandriva.

I've replaced this distro since then (simply because it was my brother's PP).

Now using a Mandriva One 2009.1 fine tuned Compiz.

    New videos to come.

My low-end Vostro1500 is now running Mandriva, OS X & XP all dual screen!

  • this is totally false, there is no 64-bit version of Mandriva Power Pack!!!

  • Well, I love linux so much, Compiz fuzion is the best. If you got the graphics then its all good. I like linux because its stable and not only that its not like windows which is loaded with viruses, but linux Is the future. It can run on poor system specs just greatly. Can turn a windows 95 computer into a super fast computer easily, with low graphics settings that is.

  • More words about this really "quick & dirty" video:

I had no "scenario", which is obvious: it's too long, showing too few special effects!

I was just happy to have my dual screen working perfectly!

Next: I want to have XFCE as well, so my Mandriva might just be even more "Frenchyer" :-) !

So far I have not worked hard on my Hackintosh, so no QuartzExtreme & so on, nor DualScreen.

I had a previous "iAtkos", in wich I had gfx at its top, but no dualscreen.

    I've lately switched from 2.1 to 4.1

  • @Mattking

    Yep, that's Gnome.

I've tried KDE4 for few minutes, but I guess my skills for setting it properly aren't good enough.

It felt so much less responsive than Gnome or KDE3, maybe my CPU is just too slow (1.4Ghz Core2Duo); or more likely, it requieres more work on its configuration to have this just as fluid as what I have from Gnome.

I'll see if my little brother can help (far better than me at Linux).

Coming next: same kind of video for other OSes I have on this laptop:

    Mac OSX, XP & 7

  • Cool Video. I'm running KDE4 on my Mandriva PWP. Is that Gnome you are using?

  • Musical credits:

Brett Anderson, "The infinite kiss" & "Back to you"
