Consider the power of these truth claims for profound affect upon your worldview, your understanding of the needs, broken status, and lostness of our world and its need for Jesus! Marvel at its depth of understanding in your teaching & outreach, your motivations, and our world and friends' need for salvation, for genuine authority, for wholeness, for real hope and lasting change.

Amazing how this can be utilized as a creed in worship. Yet is also serves as an apologetic for evangelical faith. And it can serve as prayer topics for those who do not yet have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ through repentance from sin, and full reliance on the mercy of Christ's cross and the power of his resurrected life and the indwelling of the Spirit of God.

For justification by faith we were in Romans 3-4. For the person and work of the Holy Spirit we utilized Romans 8. For the unity & purpose of believers we recommended John 17, and for the final judgment statement we focused on Jesus' teaching in Matthew 25.
Again all these are full chapters & not individual, isolated, "proof-texting" without significant contexts. We comment these texts to your consideration realizing there is much more that could be said & these should clearly be stated.

The statement on the trinity had us utilizing all of John chapter 14. Jesus teaching on Scripture & use of Scripture in Matthew 5 was next though we looked at 2Tim 3:16, Psalm 119, & the end of 2Peter 3 as well. Creation, image of God, fall and wrath had us in Genesis 1-3, Psalm 8, Acts 17 Mars Hill, Romans 1-3, & Psalm 139. Deity and humanity of Jesus had us in Hebrews 1-2 & substitution atonement in Isa 52-53, & resurrection in 1Cor. 15. All these are FULL chapters not mere proof texts.

One can attend meetings, be oriented to evangelical language, culture, friendships, associations and activities and not be indwelt by the Holy Spirit, nor transformed by Holy Spirit power or given a new life and calling by the same Spirit. This new birth into a living hope is possible because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, but only occurs when one transfers their fullest life trust and first love from self to Jesus Christ in faith. Fancy coffees & chats alone cannot do it.

The trinitarian statement is a great safeguard from sects not as connected historically with the Christian faith. One creator God clear speaks of the Judeo-Christian revelatory history and Yahweh versus other so-called deities, gods, goddesses, energies, etc. It also is not agnostic or atheist in its understanding and commitment. And it is not very postmodern in humans 'creating' their own 'realities' though it grounds human creativity in the image of God derived from The Creator. Rings true
