The "Pride of Malverne" marching band is one of the finest marching bands on Long Island. Competing all across Long Island and upstate New York, they pride themselves with hard work, dedication, success and discipline. Competing since 2000, the "Pride of Malverne" was the New York State Field Band Conference Small School 3 Champion in 2006 and 2010 and Small School 2 Champion in *2011.* They have placed in the top four, 8 out of the 9 years they have been competing in Championships. Every year, they participate in the Newsday Festival at Hofstra University, local competitions and the Malverne Memorial Day Parade. The marching band was also featured on the CW11 Morning News with Larry Hoff in the fall of 2007. This year for the 2011 season, the "Pride of Malverne" has moved up to a more difficult division, SS2 and is looking forward to the challenge!

  • @lynhistory thanks

  • Thanks Tyson. That's a great explaination. Congratulations to you and the entire band. You and your bandmates worked so hard. I live near the school and could hear you kids practicing many times. Amazing dedication. You deserve a lot of praise.

Now that I understand that you -- as a band member -- could hardly be expected to film yourself marching, I appreciate all the more that you filmed the awards bit.

  • @lynhistory and its the "winning moment"

  • @lynhistory I'm part of the band, I didnt get much and my camera battery broke so it was hard to record :/

  • Has not one scene of the band actually marching, mostly aimlless, with lots of "dead air" graphics.
