have a jam with Richie Haven's Freedom (Woodstock 1969). Read a book from library that he's not supposed to play the first act, but accidentally he need to, he got so nervous to see 450000 kids there waiting for someone to perform, finally people really dig his style! Freedom is an improvised song when people request for encore.
His picking rhythm is so free and fast, makes my hands really tired :P
the original lyrics: from American Negro Spirituals, written
by J. W. Johnson, J. R. Johnson at 1926 called "Sometimes I feel like a Motherless Child"
Don't be intimidated! It's not as difficult as it sounds, you just gotta find the rhythm (it's not just the picking pattern, there's also that sweet little trem on the D string [or was it A...]). Once you get it, it's so great to rock out to - that riff is so heavy and beautiful. Good luck.
As for you, Kokdamon, not bad. Work on the vocals WITHOUT playing the song - it's harder to try and imitate Havens.
