@rdfox76 not to mention it's right on the edge of omaha

Notice how the planes end up flying parallel to each other, instead of making a row? That's not an accident, but part of the MITO procedure. It's half about avoiding the unstable tail vortices of the preceding aircraft, and half about not making an easy, single target to a potential, incoming fighter.

that's the sound of freedom. i'd welcome that over my house any day.

"I love the smell of jet exhaust in the morning"
I was stationed at a SAC base. We had many "mobility" exercises. At least once a month. We had 56 B-52's and a dozen KC-135's. When they did MITO's they would get them ALL up in less than 18 minutes. Have ya ever heard 448 engines all at the same time?
what? What? WHAT? I can't hear you.

I can only imagine the sort of awesome show that SAC put on in the B-47 days. MITO launches of an entire *wing* of B-47s, with six wet J-47s and 33 JATO bottles each all blasting away, one every fifteen seconds, with them making low-altitude 45-degree turns to be able to see where they were going with all the smoke... yeah, that would have been impressive to see!

What's global warming?

8 full power j57s must be loud as hell :)

Got to see this and photograph it a couple of times very loud and awsomethese are the guys that kept the peace here at home and kept the russians out of our country. Like the president in Independence Day said, that's what we should do to alQeda NUKE EM, LETS NUKE THE BASTARDS...
Ah, the sound of wet J-57s... never get to hear or see it again...

@robytar It is sad that the world will never get to hear that again. Unfortunately, I have never heard it myself either.
