PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, addressing the leaders of Arab countries at the Arab League summit in Libya, on March 27, 2010: "I say to the leaders of our Arab nation and to its peoples: Jerusalem and its environs are a trust that Allah entrusted to us. Saving it [Jerusalem] from the settlement monster and the danger of Judaization and [land-] confiscation, is a personal commandment incumbent on all of us. Therefore, I call all of you to serious and urgent action to save [Jerusalem] and to make available all possibilities in order to strengthen our resolve and to maintain its historical, cultural and religious character."

If Allah commands you to save holy Jerusalem, he sure didn't do so in the Quran. Jerusalem is not mentioned even once in the Q'uran.
And by "entrusted", of course he means "we invaded and stole this land, and it really pisses us off that those damned Jews took it back".
And this is the same schmuck the media calls "moderate". I guess compared to Hamas, the Third Reich and Charlie Manson might be seen as moderates... but it's still quite a stretch.

Just like when Abraham had to banish ishmeal & hagar, because ishmeal refused to stop bully ing Isaac. Bullys from the get go... and Israel & all who love her will always be the infadels. It's Israels' GOD GIVEN LAND!

This is supposed to be the "moderate" Palestinian leadership weve been hearing so much about?

@gombie, you are correct that experience has shown the Israelis protect & allow access to Holy Sites, whereas the Muslims destroy & vandalize them (Joseph's tomb, church in Bethlehem, etc) even denying Jews access to the Temple Mount itself. But biblically, God made a unilateral, *unconditional* land promise w/ boundaries in His covenant with the physical seed of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob that includes Jerusalem. Rebellion against that brings promised judgment (Zech, Joel, etc)

Well i think that most improtantly jews should have it, they should have the ''promised land'' that muslims have taken from them. But basicly Jews having Jerusalem opens the doors for christians to go there.
It's sort of holy land for christians too, but if you follow some of the ''rejected'' gospels, a christian shouldn't keep any building or land holy..

@gombie, as a Christian I must disagree, & say to maintain its historical, cultural & religious character would be to give it to the Jews, not to Christians. Bible-believing Christians know that it is given to the Jews & only the fake Christian traditions or those steeped in bad theology would claim any part of it from the Jews. Beware attempts of the R. Catholic Church, interfaithers, etc to have functional (if not territorial) control over parts of Jerusalem.
