Please make a all-in-one device to replace my cellphone, mp3 player, laptop, game console, tv, radio, tivo, dvd player, etc. all that can fit in my pocket. And, no, the iPhone doesn't cut it.

  • What the hell?

Its called a UMPC - a small laptop which can do ANYTHING!

But, you couldnt put even that upto your ear as a phone!

    LAME

  • If you watched the whole video - you'd know that the UMPC doesn't fit the bill. It's not a cell phone. It's not a camera. It's not a PVR. It can't fit in my pocket. It doesn't work held up to your ear. The UMPC is not the answer.

  • I WANT THIS DEVICE!!!!!! U are talking about

  • Chad,

I do not mean to sound condescending but your videos are quite frankly bad. Your speech is dragged out, and it seems that sometimes you do not even know what you are trying to saying. After a few minutes I start to "when is this going to end," and "what is your point."

If a company would make this all in one device that you speak of would you even purchase it, or make another video complaining about the price.

  • Given this is just my specific idea (copyrighted), but I think it would work like a charm, esp. without proprietary crap.

Any ideas for improvement, let me know....

    thanks

  • Idea continued Hard Drive -Small removable laptop hard drive or Flash Drive -Can use external Hard Drive via USB -Can be used with DVR function when hooked up to the TV (perhaps an accessory for wireless functionality or remote) Graphics Card -Scaled down similar to ones out now Screen -OLED touch screen Voice recorder Camera -Perhaps a small 6.1 OS -Unix based -Compilation of Linux that can run Mac or Microsoft software innately copyrighted
  • Check out my idea

    Ports

-2 USB (external hard drive, accessories, etc.)

    -Headphone jack

    -Charger (could use USB port)

-DVI/Component (Could use USB and adaptor)

    -Bluetooth (Keyboard, mouse, etc.)

    -Wireless internet (using Bluetooth perhaps)

-SD/Pro Duo (if it would fit, not a big deal, can just use USB flash drive)

  • I hear every word you are saying and totally agree! I had gone through numerous unlocked smartphones in search of the perfect device and found that it does not exist. I have settled for a Treo 680 mainly for Mac synching, music playing, touchscreen navigation and word processing.

I am tempted by the Nokia E90 and would like to play with the iPhone, but the Treo seems to be staying permanently for me.

  • Very interesting. The problem is, there is so much you're asking for in that device; not only would it cost FAR too much to have any presence in the consumer electronic world, (perhaps corporate?) but there is just so much going on in your proposition that one component in the unit is bound to be it's undoing, be it the phone, TV function, etc. And I doubt hardware/software companies would be able to make a series of units and perfect them along the way due to the cost of what you're asking for.

  • Don't see this as a possibility. To fit a 20gig hard drive, 2-3 inch colour screen, tv tuner, am/fm tuner, phone receiver, gps device, all the connections required, game processor and more into a package the size of someone's wallet will be tough. I would guess even if it was done it would look awful and be a nightmare ergonomically. I think you could take away the laptop feature, the phone feature and scale back your gaming expectations and this could work.

  • Umm, Opera is everywhere on mobile devices...ever heard of Opera Mini?

  • Its nice how you're making more videos. How's is the newest video you're making gonna be.
