Pier Natural Bridge Park is in Richland County near the village of Rockbridge. The Pier family donated the land for the Park in the 1920s. The West Branch of the Pine River flows under a 60 foot high sandstone ridge here to join the Pine River. An historical marker notes that on the night of July 29, 1832, during the Black Hawk War, General Atkinson's troops camped at this location. Slide show by John Wanserski.

  • My grandparents lived here for a long time. My grandfather passed away in 2004 and is buried in the Rockbridge Cemetary. My grandmother still lives there....we'll be visiting for Christmas very soon!

  • My grandfather owned the first house built in Rock Bridge until he passed 8 years ago due to a heart attack. Though the house is no longer there we still know almost everyone in the small town of Rock Bridge.
