@bestamerica Of course it can go running without a thermostat, but the engine will run at lower temperatures than the ones it was designed for. This can cause excessive engine wear because the optimal tolerances and fittings between the engine parts are reached at a certain temperature. This temperature is regulated by the thermostat.
