Texas State Aquarium Dolphins Cobie & Shadow by Scarpace

"Dolphin Bay" Visitor Exhibit at the Texas State Aquarium in Corpus Christi, Texas, USA on September 9th, 2006.

Say hello to Cobie and Shadow. Both of these Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphins lack the necessary skills to survive in the wild and are considered non-releasable. They where both transported from the National Aquarium in Baltimore to the Texas State Aquarium in 2006. They live, train, play, and exercise in the Dolphin Bay exhibit with over 30,800 square feet of dedicated space. Their man-made habitat and home contains nearly 400,000 gallons of saltwater. Dolphin Bay offers two viewing areas, one above the water and one underwater. At least twice a day, Cobie and Shadow train within the exhibit for exercise and for the visitors to enjoy. Dolphin Bay is entirely funded by private donations. No tax, municipal, state, or federal dollars are used. That's too bad about Shadow :-( This was our first trip to the Aquarium back in 2006. However, I'm still glad that we got the footage that we did get!

Cobie was born at the National Aquarium in 1992 and died in 2007 FYI
