Jay and Marcia Franks bought Homestead Manor in 2004 and about 45 acres surrounding the estate. The Franks recently made the property a conservation easement, thus preserving if for perpetuity as green space.

It is hoped that a future battlefield commemorating the Battle of Thompson's Station (March 4-5, 1863), will be developed on the property.
