I have a question. I love working with Linux, and I'd like to branch into Linux administration. Would CCNA help? The internet is practically run on Cisco routers. I know there's a few Linux certs out there too, but I don't know much about demand for Linux administrators. Probably nothing in my area, except for possibly FLETC.

I don't really have any Server experience, but am going through my CCNP right now. TCP/IP and Cisco routing and switching is what I'm interested in and feel comfortable with. My situation is that I'm going for the CCNP while in full-time classes at the local community college for my AA in Networking. Right now I'm in 2 online Microsoft classes (70-642 and 70-680)..I'm learning some, but am much more focused on furthering my Cisco studies. Microsoft.. ehhh

I totally agree here with booduh. Although kicking ass at both will make you much more marketable. If your goal is to be the most valuable you can be to a company then study both.

13:19 I completely agree with you. I have a technician background since I was 14. I was able to fix advance malware infections that my boss could not fix. However, I cannot fathom what he does when it comes to routing and switching..

I thank you for this video. I am strongly considering changing field from a totally non related field to Cisco. And I mean 18 years if food service. But I love troubleshooting and actually using my brain logically. Ive had my doubts that a restaurant manger could make the switch, but it seems that my past won't hinder my future. I look forward to watching more videos. Is there a direct email I can send question to? Is there a cable of contents or a sequence of videos to follow from beginning

Dead on. My MSCA/ComTIA Certs Is mostly useless when it comes to Cisco. At the 10 minute marker Booduh had put the nail in the coffin, it would make Networkers a better troubleshooter. However, when you work in a large company that can afford to hire a LAN team and Network Team You will be forced to prove your logic often. I see this more in the Datacenter environment more than anything else.
