The stronger, bigger brother of the regular Aventinus. This beer, being extra strong, has got a lot to offer!

  • I had this whilst eating my steak about 5 minutes ago. At first I thought the same as you mentioned later on in your review. It's an after dinner drink. But it also like you said, "grows" on you. I'd highly recommend this to anyone. Great review Denis.

  • @iMPaCtx856 I'm pleased to hear you liked it! If things go right, this winter I'll do a vertical tasting of aged Aventinus Eisbock. I've been buying and ageing a bottle each year for the last few years. Cheers!

  • Just watched this vid as I just cracked open a bottle of this. Very good and very professional review, finishing off with "I'm feeling a buzz here, but who the f**k cares'. I like, lol. And the beer's pretty good too. Cheers!

  • @maddmaxstar Haha! I've actually been buying and keeping a new bottle of this beer every year, ever since I reviewed it. Hopefully next winter I can do a vertical tasting to compare the '08, '09, and '10 releases and how they age. Cheers!

  • can you name a 12% beer as smooth as this? or an 8.2% beer as smooth as regular Aventinus?

  • @heelhook80 That's right, at 12% it's very smooth, I can't think of any competitors. However, I've had a number of very smooth 7-10% beers; for example: the Left Hand Imperial Stout, Dogfish Head 90min IPA, or eve the Southern Tier Pumking. Cheers!

  • damn...where can you get this beer in the States?

  • The Aventinus is one of my favourites, but I haven't had the pleasure of trying the Eisbock as of yet.

Great review. Who the fuck cares? Not I.

Is the Eisbock version available in Montreal, or did you get it elsewhere?

  • Who the fuck cares! hahah hes pissed!

  • @JimmXDD You know what, I'll try to learn, but I can't pronounce ALL the beers correctly. I don't know any German, and its fonetics are more challenging to me than, say, French or some Eastern European languges.

I assume you can pronounce the name of any beer you drink. Try to find a Russian or a Czech beer and pronounce it 100% right! Good luck!
