Batman Returns (by Konami, for the Nintendo Entertainment System home console) - Deathless speed run - Part 1. Performed by Daniel T (aka DTysonator) on a real NES console, recorded on VHS, and digitally produced by "cyriades". After the fast playthrough of this difficult classic is a short clip from the original movie released in theaters in 1989.

How come that kick takes away health

I believe it is because it is a special move in the vein of Final Fight and Streets of Rage, where you get extra priority over enemies at the cost of health.

You can actually beat the game with no death if you pick all life upgrades.Nothing hard.

I;m kinda pissed. I used to work my ass off. Little did I know that even with the health reduction, careful planning lets you use that special move pretty much from start to finish. Well done, sir/madam.

I always have a lot of mindfuck with 3-1, where u need to jump in the window second time, all versions I have played is glitching - window is always closed, sometimes on some versions that selffixes after game over continue. wtf

Yes, it is a special move, just the same as in the SNES game. A pity though, but very effective!

Damn, thanks bro! You just demystified one of my childhood demons =). Back then I always got stuck at the copters and it seemed impossible to kill those sobs, even with the rope gun!! Anyways, it's good to know that the game actually does go on^^.
