Mega Man 9 - Wily's Castle Boss #4

Fight against the fourth and final boss of Wily's Castle, Dr. Wily.

Had to use two E Tanks here, he's rough. Three forms and all of them are dangerous. His first form is pretty unpredictable with those eggs, which is why I often found myself plowing headfirst into one.

The second form is easier, mainly because I got the pattern down early and it actually has an exploitable weakness in Concrete Shot.

The third form is misery in a can. Both patterns of shot are not easy to avoid, and its weakness is P. Ball so it's near impossible to hit him with that, which is why I used Hornets and M. Bazooka.

So ends a great game! Tune in next time for Proto Man or a higher difficulty level.

It is. His first form is so unpredictable that it's hard to avoid taking damage. The second form isn't that bad once you have the jump timing down for both attacks, but the third form...even with Black Hole Bomb and Tornado Blow to help out, it's still rough.

On my first try, which is what this video showcases, it wasn't. I didn't have the bounce pattern of the eggs down so I kept getting hit when I tried to jump and hit an egg that was coming at me.

@DjMeas I have to say, this was a solid last boss. The game got harder all the way through. It was very well produced. They could of done a lot more with it being a sequel and all. I can't hate on the game thow, it's good!

Thank you for doing this like an average human being, with E tanks and difficulty. I could never do like the speedrun people could, and your way seems much more doable.

yeah, i loved that too. it may sound like blasphemy, but i would have liked to see more stuff like that in MM. wily became a real stereotype in the later games.

Yeah but my favorite form of him was then he used that Alien hologram. An overused cleche on video game villans (Beck in the NES era) but kick ass none the less.

His 1st form was a bitch to do, but his 2nd and final forms are okay. I see you use a variety of weapons on the final form. The Plug Ball weapon is very effective against Wily in his final form.

wilys 3rd form is a true classic. how many times has he used that form and attack by now? 4 times ? at least, i guess.

Being able to predict what he's about to do and being able to time your shots and dodge the ball when it's hopelessly close to you are two different things.

As you notice, he moves in closer, then farther. Repeat. It gets tedious. Even then, when it doesn't hit his face you have to start over.
