Na I've seen it with my own eyes, someone threw down some bread and the adults scarpered a long way from their small chicks to get to it, leaving them open to attack by predators.

nope.geese are some of the best parents on earth.Humans could learn ALOT from them.Egyptian geese are very good parents to.They may eat handouts but wont leave the young for it.Maybe a few feet but thats it.

Many of this speices of geese I have seen are not very good parents and
often leave the young if someone throws down food.

I get absolutely maudlin over geese; they are so beautiful and have such humble unassuming natures. I love watching them and this was a perfectly goosy video (that is a high compliment!)
